1. A mother brings her 10 year old son who has been under performing academically at school. Tell us how you would proceed?

5. You are asked to do a DV to see a  old lady of 75yrs who lives alone. There has been concerns that she has been neglecting herself. When you visit her you find that she is mentally sound but she lives in squalor. Tell us what you would do?

6. How would you assess 21 yr. old boy who has recently set fire to a neighbours house when nobody was at home?

7. A patient is brought to you. He is 19 yr. old and has returned from his studies in Japan a week ago. However he has been mute from the time he landed in UK. Explain how you would asses him?

11.  A couple comes to see you in the out patient department. The wife who has bi polar affective disorder had been on Lithium for 4 yr. but has been in remission for one year following the last admission. She tells you that she has found out that she is pregnant. What would be your advice?

12.  A medical registrar calls you, and asks you to see 43 yr. old male   patient who has been refusing food and drinks, since recovery from a pneumonia. Tell us how you would respond?

13.  A surgical registrar approaches you confidentially. He tells you that he may be infected with AIDS. He tells you that you are the only one whom he has divulged this. He has been feeling depressed due to this and asks for your advice. What would you do?

14.  Your social worker approaches you confidentially and tells you that he has found himself attracted to children. And asks weather you can help? What would you do?

15.  Your secretary tells you that your junior doctor has been dictating bizarre letters and discharge summaries. How would you proceed?

16.  You see a 23 yr. old lady patient who has been a frequent attender to the A&E. She tells you that she feels depressed and suicidal and requests admission. When you start the assessment she tells you that if you don't admit her she would commit suicide. How would you respond?

17.  A 13 yr. old joy rider has been arrested by the police? He has been crying from the time of arrest and wouldn't talk. You are asked to see this boy as the on call consultant. How would you proceed?

18.  A mother had been claiming that her 3 months old baby has been a curse for her family. You are asked to see her urgently. How would you respond?

19. A mentally retarded patient of 28 yr., has started banging his head on the wall for the last 2 weeks. You are asked to see the patient by the ward sister . How would you respond?

20. You are the SPR of a general adult psychiatry ward. When you visit the ward in the morning  ward sister tells you that a female patient has complained that she has been raped by another male patient. What would you do?
