Welcome to part I help
This page links you to five pages
MRCPsych, Syllabus
The Syllabus for the examinations
MCQ techniques
A discussion about MCQ answering methodology,
including few techniques the authors themselves have found useful.
Part I MCQs
It is better to look at the MCQ answers after you have answered them, so that you
find out your weak areas. Visit the site regularly and attempt the new additions so
that you keep track on your progress.
Part I Clinicals
A discussion of how you would approach this and help
the examiners to pass you.
Reading list
We have attempted to limit the list to essentials,
but unfortunately it seems to be growing in length with every update.
Courses
We have no vested interests in promoting any
MRCPsych course, but attending a course can only work to your advantage. Therefore we have
looked at some leading courses in the country.
Part one examination is relatively easy compared to part II. The syllabus is limited, and you need only prepare yourself for MCQ paper and clinicals. At clinicals you are not asked about management but you must master phenomenology, as examiners are very particular about this unlike in part II. Clinicals are considered to be the most important component, and you can still pass, even if you have failed the theory marginally, if you have done the clinicals well.
we hope that part I help will be helpful for your exam preparation. Please take a little time to complete the feed back form. (available in home page and about the site page.)
